The Falmouth Working Boats are a traditional sight in Falmouth , especially during the summer months when they can be seen racing in the Carrick Roads with their colourful topsails. Traditionally they are used for dredging Oysters under sail.
 
The top sail is made from black leather with a reflective St Pirans cross. ( St.Piran is the patron saint of Cornwall and you will see the white cross on a black background everywhere.)
The working Boats in Falmouth are all identified by their unique colourful topsails. As my designs are so colourful already I chose to use the St Piran top sail after the first  Falmouth Working boat boat Muriel (1890).
